The following research modalities of labor hiring and its influence in the efficiency of functions of the collaborators of the provincial municipality of San Martín, in Tarapoto city, year 2017, set as objective to determine the influence of the modalities of hiring in the efficiency of functions in the Provincial Municipality of San Martín, in Tarapoto city, year 2017, with an explanatory level, of non-experimental, transversal, correlational-causal design. To this end, the questionnaire was used for the survey and instrument, with a sample of 61 collaborators, where it was obtained that the diagnosis of the contracting modalities that are developed within the provincial municipality of San Martin are regular to the extent of 72% of the perception of the collaborators, in addition the level of development of functions is medium in 61%. In this way it was concluded that according to Pearson's application it is observed that there is a relationship between the variables, this is because there is a bilateral significance less than 0.05, which allows accepting and contrasting the research hypothesis.
