The present research work titled "Prevalence of Toxocariasis (Toxocara canis) in Canines (Canis Familiaris) Using the Flotation Method, in the District of Tarapoto"; Had as main objective: Study of the epidemiology and characteristics of the prevalence of Toxócariasis (Toxócara canis) in canines of the city of Tarapoto. In which 275 samples of dog feces (Canis familiaris) were processed as experimental units to determine the prevalence of Toxócara canis in domestic canines in the urban area of the District of Tarapoto. The parameters evaluated were in relation to the age of the dogs and the sex of the dogs. These samples were processed and analyzed using the flotation method with saturated sugar solution, of which 65 canines were positive to Toxócara canis and 210 canines were negative. Represented a prevalence of 23.38% in the urban area of the district of Tarapoto. It was also determined that according to the variables, dogs less than one year of age are most likely to suffer from this parasitic disease, regardless of the sex of the same. This research concludes that the dogs of the District of Tarapoto present a moderate prevalence to Toxocariasis (Toxócara canis).
