The investigation was carried out in the sector Ubos, District of Lamas, Province of Lamas, San Martin region during 2015, the objective was to determine the potential of carbon sequestration in function of the agro-ecological management, of the sector Ubos; In addition, the specific objectives were to quantify the carbon sequestration of both tree species and agricultural species. Where the following research problem was posed: What is the potential of carbon sequestration, depending on the agro-ecological management of the Ubos sector?, For which the following variables were taken into account, as a dependent variable carbon sequestration and the variables independent are the arboreal species and the agricultural biomass. Taking as a result, that the present sequestration potential of the arboreal system is 30,517.23 kg of biomass on average and that it is represented by a total of 37 arboreal species between forest and fruit trees, sequestering a total of 56 Tn / ha of carbon. On the other hand, agricultural systems, such as "corn" (Zea mays), "bean" (Phaseolus vulgaris) and "platanus" (Musa balbisiana), vary from 0.66 to 0.84 kg and 5.30 kg, respectively, sequestering a total of 6.80 kg of carbon. The conclusion reached was that both the agricultural and tree systems contribute to carbon sequestration, however it is the tree species with 56 Tn / ha of carbon that contribute significantly to carbon sequestration; while agricultural crops only managed to capture 6.80 kg of carbon.
