The objective of the following study was to determine the association between hyperemesis gravidarum and intrauterine growth retardation and low birth weight in pregnant women attended at the Tarapoto II – 2 Hospital, from September 2016 to January 2017, the following is a quantitative, descriptive, cross - sectional, correlational retrospective study , the population was 48 women of childbearing age with hyperemesis gravidarum. The technique was the documentary review and as an instrument data collection tab. The results, in relation to the factors of hyperemesis gravidarum, were; 75% were hospitalized, according to weight loss of less than 5% of the usual weight; Only 35% lost weight, according to anemia (<11gr / dl) 19% had it. Pregnant women according to degree of hyperemesis gravidarum, 54% were "Mild", 29% "Moderate" degree and 17% had "Severe" grade. Neonates of pregnant women with hyperemesis gravidarum were characterized: 58% female; Of size less than 35cm; 52% had a gestational age greater than 40 weeks. The type of Low Weight and IUGR was: 50% with Incredible Low Birth Weight equivalent to less than 800g and no newborns with IUGR were diagnosed. There is a significant relationship between the hyperemesis gravidarum and the low birth weight of the neonates of pregnant women attending the Hospital II - 2 Tarapoto, September 2016 - January 2017.
