The present work he made in the Experimental Agrarian Station “El Porvenir”, located in the District of Juan Guerra, country and Región San Martín, to 14,5 Km of the road south Fernando Belaunde Terry. In order to evaluate the effect of two sources and three dose of potassium on the cultivation of creole cotton (variety INIA 802), and to determine the relationship I benefit cost of the diverse treatments. The dosc was are: 0, 50 y 100 Kg of potassium for Ha with Kcl and SO4K. To all the treatments It was applied like dosc of N and P. The N he applied in two parts, the first half when the plant had 40 centimeter tall with the P. The K he applied at the beginning of the flowering with the second half of N. The results proved what in the District of Juan Guerra, the K not yet is a factor what limit the production of raw cotton. But he ought not to neglect the fertilization like a factor to preserve of the floor. Therefore the application of potassium ought not to increase of 50 Kg of K for Ha, because he made spend not need, according to us proved the benefit – cost analysis. With regard to the sources of potassium, the analysis of variance for all the variables studied, he not found difference estatistics among these, therefore is not appropriate to recommend a determined fertilizing potassium of the studieds. Also all three doses were statistically behaved similarly, except for weight and seed index, in which the doses D1 (0 kg K/Ha) was superior to other doses. With regard to interaction, there also was no significant difference, which indicates that these factors act independently. As for the quality of fiber, it was observed that for T2, reached a greater length of fiber and treatment T5 was improved finesse. In contrast with the treatment T4, there was a higher tensile strength, which indicates that larger applications of 50 kg of potassium per hectare does not increase the resistance of the fiber. Key Words: Potasio, algodón, nitrógeno, fósforo, fertilizante, limitante.
