This research entitled: Risk Factors for Type 11 Diabetes Mellitus in Adults Sector •Atumpampa" - Tarapoto District 2012, was raised as a quantitative research approach, placing it within the simple descriptive type of research, and as prospective collection cross-sectional data, we used the single-box design, targeting, identify risk factors for type 11 diabetes mellitus in adults sector "Atumpampa". District of Tarapoto, in 2012, using the Test of Findrisk. The population was represented by Atumpampa Sector 134 adults who met the inclusion criteria. For data collection was used Findrisk The test was designed specifically to measure the level of a person's risk to develop type 11 diabetes within 1O years, taking into account the assessment of the risk factors age, index body mass, waist circumference, physical activity, consumption of fruits and vegetables , consumption of drugs to control high blood pressure, high blood sugar history and family history of diabetes in adults. The data were systematized using SPSS version 17.0. The findings were: BMI overweight reported in 49.3% of adults, showing an increased risk for type 2 diabetes manifest in the next 1O years, 32.1% for BMI Obesity grade 1, consistent with moderate risk for type 2 diabetes manifest. The waist circumference index reported high result, closely linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus in 29.3% of women and 51.9% of men. 89.6% of adults are not physically active. 85.1% consumed no fruits or vegetables daily. 55.2% consumes no antihypertensive medication. The 36.6% if you had a history of high blood sugar in blood and 72.4% if reported family history of diabetes. According Findrisk test the level of risk of adults for diabetes mellitus type 11 59.7% reported very high risk, that is, one in two people in this group is likely to develop diabetes within 1O years and 33.6% high risk level, ie, one in three adults is equally likely. The greatest risk factor prevalence for diabetes mellitus type 11 as raised in test categories for adults Findrisk said 89.6% are not physically active factor.
