This project is carried out in the Cerro Corona Mining Unit - Gold Fields la Cima, located in the Cajamarca region, Hualgayoc province, Hualgayoc district, in the El Tingo peasant community, La Jalca farm annex, Coymolache and Pilancones farmhouses. between the 3,600 and 4,000 meters of altitude, where the basins of the Tingo / La Quebrada or Tingo / Maygasbamba rivers, and Hualgayoc / Arascorgue are located. The main objective of the project is based on the treatment and utilization of groundwater from the drilling work carried out in the pit of the Cerro Corona mining unit, and stored in the containment wells, in order to supply the resource water to the camp of the mining company Gold Fields and community of Hualgayoc for domestic use. Thus benefiting the workers of the camp of the mining company and the inhabitants of the Community. The project aims to improve the quality of the water that will enter the Coymolache Treatment Plant with a capacity of 10 LPS, considering that the water to be treated will come from wells PP-19 and PP-18 and obtain drinking water according to ECA Cat 1: A1 DIGESA DS Nº 031-2010-SA, where most of the chemical parameters are within the ECA Cat 1: A1 DIGESA. The project has proposed replacing the traditional water pre-treatment system with an ultrafiltration system, where the water treated by this method would feed the reverse osmosis membranes. In the first place, thanks to this substitution, the number of stages and therefore the volume of the plant is reduced, being able to reach production levels even higher than those that currently exist with a drastic reduction of the space intended for pretreatment. And second, and the main objective of the project, would be a reduction in costs of production derived from the decrease and even in some cases the elimination of the necessary chemical dosage. Energy savings due to the new pressure requirements and, as mentioned above, an increase in the life of the osmosis membranes as a consequence of a smaller size of the solids in the inlet stream, which reduces the number of washes. The new configuration, will respect the ideas of sustainability and respect for the environment, since being integrated into a water treatment plant, and being a modification of it, what is intended is to reduce the use of chemical products so that they will generate smaller amounts of polluting waste and will operate under conditions of pressure and temperature in some significantly lower cases.
