The present paper justifies the change from traditional blasting method to Air Deck (Pre-Splitting) in controlled blasting, in which the reduction of operating costs by material types (principal blasting costs) influences. The method they used in the controlled blasting of on-line drilling generated more costs is thus moving the Air Deck pre-splitting method to a modern method that incurs many variables, but the benefit of this is that it optimizes the cost. Using the Air Deck method, better results were obtained in terms of fragmentation and uniformity, compared to traditional blasting results performed in the project. To do this, using the I blast and the JK Slimblast software, more feasible data could be obtained for the improvement of a mesh for the controlled blast, thus not having back break and fly rock as the final result. These practices are now being carried out in the area at a Hualgayoc surface mine and are doing well. They are expected to be carried out in all possible projects with this type of Air Deck –Pre Splitting method, in order to reduce their operating costs.
