xi ABSTRACT This investigation is developed in order to know the fluency of speech in our language, its characteristics and understand its normal and pathological development. The objective is to get a speech fluency profile in 7 years old Peruvian Spanish fluent speaker’s children. It`s a simple descriptive study of nonexperimental type, with a descriptive transactional design. 40 fluent children participate from 7:0 to 7:11 years old, divided into 2 groups of equal amount. The spontaneous speech samples of these children are analyzed according to the Speech Fluency Assessment Protocol (Andrade, 2006). The results show that fluent speaking children have a minimum of stuttering disfluencias in their speech. The speech fluency varies in each one, influenced by extrinsic and intrinsic aspects. The most common disfluencies recorded are hesitations and revisions. No recorded unfinished works. Within the stuttering disfluencies are recorded a greater number of pauses, but no sound and block repetitions are presented. In terms of speech rate, the average of words for minute is 98,5 and the average of syllables for minute is 174,6.According to the disruptions frequency, the average percentage of speech discontinuity is 7,4 and that of stuttering disfluencies is 0,5 in a sample of 200 syllables. One of the conclutions of the present investigation is that the fluent children dont present blockages in their speech.
