The present qualitative research aimed to estimate the impact of maritime crimes on internal security in the Tumbes region of Perú by 2033. Data collection techniques included directed interviews with specialists and professionals experienced in maritime security and knowledgeable about the criminal situation in the Tumbes region, using a semi-structured questionnaire. This approach aimed to gather professionally relevant information based on their experiences, opinions, and well-supported perspectives, which served as input for the subsequent analysis. Furthermore, the research involved the analysis of information and documents related to the investigation's themes to obtain essential data, subsequently compared with the insights provided through interviews with specialists and professionals. Subsequently, the MICMAC structural analysis software was employed to analyze trends, behaviors, scenarios, and influences, offering a comprehensive perspective on security threats. According to specialists and professionals, the research suggests that the presence of illicit activities such as illegal fishing, armed robbery, and smuggling poses a constant and emerging risk, possibly linked to criminal gangs from Ecuador. Regarding drug trafficking, though not reported in the Tumbes Region, the combination of a strategic geographical location, accessibility through multiple routes (maritime and terrestrial), and a weak state presence makes the Tumbes region, especially the Zarumilla province, attractive to national and foreign drug trafficking organizations as a transit, stockpiling, and distribution zone. Ultimately due to the increasing incidents of armed robbery on vessels, the prevalence of illegal fishing, fuel smuggling, coupled with the potential threat from foreign criminal organizations engaged in drug trafficking in the Tumbes Region, it is estimated that internal security, environmental sustainability, and national sovereignty will be adversely affected by 2033.
