Background: After teeth whitening, the placement of adhesive restorations should bepostponed for 7 to 21 days due to a decrease in the bond strength to the enamel due to the presence of residual oxygen molecules, which leads to a reduction in the adhesive bond strength. Therefore, various antioxidant substances have been proposed. Objective: To evaluate the bonding resistance to enamel exposed to antioxidants after teeth whitening with 35% hydrogen peroxide. Materials and methods: Bovine tooth enamel surfaces exposed to 35% hydrogen peroxide were evaluated, following the manufacturer's instructions. The antioxidants used were: Maqui Berry Extract (MB), pine bark extract (CP) and sodium ascorbate (AS) at 5% and 10% each; negative control (SB) and positive control (SB-SA). Microshear tests were carried out on the OM100 semi-universal testing machine (ODEME, San Carlos, SP, Brazil. The mean, standard deviation and ANOVA/Tukey (α=0.05) were analyzed. Results: The antioxidant agents with the highest resistance values the microshear bond strengths were AS 10% at 5 minutes (16.64±1.93), MB 5% at 5 minutes (17.32±1.32) and MB 10% at 10 minutes (17.82±1.46). Conclusion: All antioxidant agents recovered the microshear bond strength of bovine tooth enamel after tooth whitening with 35% hydrogen peroxide, except for AS 5% at 5 minutes, MB 10% at 5 minutes. The antioxidant agents that increased the microshear bond strength values were 10% AS at 5 minutes, 5% MB at 5 minutes, and 10% MB at 10 minutes.
