The main purpose of this research is to verify that the CBR of the clayey soil in Tingo María – Mapresa Sector, Interoceanic Highway km 4.1, can be improved and a better subgrade can be obtained by using banana leaf ash (BLA) and brick dust (BD) in combination. According to SUCS, the soil type in which the work was conducted is classified as OL, organic clay of medium plasticity; while according to the AASHTO table, it is classified as an A-7-5 type, clayey silt material. In addition, the CBR value of the soil without additives was determined to be 5.43%. The combinations for improving the CBR were 8%, 15%, and 25%, with each combination having different percentages of BLA and BD: 8% (2% BLA and 6% BD), 15% (5% BLA and 10% BD), and 25% (7% BLA and 18% BD). Each sample was subjected to Proctor tests and CBR tests, and finally, a comparative graph was made for each test to select the percentage of additive with the highest improvement capacity; with 8% additive, a CBR of 11.30% was obtained, with 15% a value of 12.40%, and with 25% the highest value of 13%. The results obtained were used for the reclassification of the subgrade type. The soil without additives, with a CBR of 5.43%, was classified as a regular soil type, and by using 25% additive, the CBR improved to 13%, which reclassifies the subgrade as good; finally, the subgrade was improved.
