The aim of this research is to analyze the relation between State-Trait Anxiety and Self-esteem in students of sixth grade of primary and first grade of secondary that belong to intermediate childhood (Children from 6 to 12 years old) in San Isidro, Lima. For this purpose, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC) and Self-esteem Test for School Students were applied to 113 students of 11 and 12 years old, both genders, taking the sixth grade of primary and first grade of secondary in an academic context with interactive and participatory methodology. They were subject to reliability analysis, obtaining values of Cronbach's Alpha adequate to self-esteem (.0769), the same for the trait-anxiety scale (.882) and insufficient values for state-anxiety (.142), despite the value of state-anxiety is not adequate. Likewise, the student's information was collected and processed in order to initiate dialogue and debate. This research found that there is statistically significant relation between the self-esteem, state-anxiety and trait-anxiety. There is a greater tendency to high levels of state-anxiety and self-esteem, there is a greater tendency to high levels of state-anxiety and self-steem in students of first grade of secondary, there is greater tendency to low levels of trait-anxiety, there is a greater tendency to high levels of state-anxiety and self-esteem in women of first grade of secondary and greater tendency to low levels of both state-anxiety and trait-anxiety in men of sixth grade of primary, there is a greater tendency to high levels of self-esteem in students of sixth grade of primary, there is a negative correlation between the categories of self-esteem and state-anxiety and trait-anxiety, there is a significant relation between self-esteem, state-anxiety and trait-anxiety regarding the grade of studies, age and gender.
