Objectives: to identify the relationship between iron intake with nutritional status and presence of anemia in the pregnant population under study. Material and methodology: This is an observational, descriptive, cross cut and correlational study in the National Hospital Luis N. Sáenz of the National Police of Peru (PNP), in the period between July and November 2013. The relationship between the variables was described at a given time. The sample consisted of pregnant women, the study included all pregnant women between 20 and 34 years who were in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy and had a unique pregnancy. Signing the acceptance of the informed consent was requested. The collection and recording of general, anthropometric and biochemical data were obtained from medical records, for which a questionnaire was used. Later the pregnant women were interviewed to know data related to supplementation, making a 24-hour recall to know their eating habits and were evaluated for anthropometry to estimate your current nutritional status. Finally, the collected information was processed and analyzed with the help of statistical programs. Results: 60% had an adequate intake of total iron, while 38% was poor. It also found that 26% of pregnant women showed anemia and 80% had a normal nutritional status in the third trimester. Conclusion: There was founded significant relationship between iron intake with the presence of anemia, but not with nutritional status
