The objective of this research was to establish the relationship between the perception of body image and dietary intake of students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Universidad Nacional San Cristóbal de Huamanga (UNSCH). (UNSCH). The level of the research was correlational, cross-sectional, applied type, non-experimental design. The study sample was 313 male and female university students. The instruments used were the body silhouettes of Stunkard and Stellard (1990), modified by Collins (1991) and to analyze dietary intake, the food habits questionnaire of Ferro M. (2012) was used. It was observed in the results that most students presented alteration of their body image by underestimation, a large percentage of university students presented an adequate dietary intake, according to number of meals consumed per day, food preparation, frequency of consumption, consumption of vegetables and beverages; likewise, 77% of students presented a normal body mass index, 21.4% were overweight, 1% were thin and 0.6% were obese. Conclusion: No significant relationship was found between body image perception and dietary intake in university students.
