The present study aims to determine the relationship between attachment styles and family composition in adolescents in the district of Santa Anita. The research is descriptive, quantitative non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. The sample consisted of 115 school adolescents of both sexes, between 14 and 17 years of age, studying between the 3rd and 5th year of secondary school in two educational institutions in the city of Lima. The instrument used was the Auto Questionnaire of internal models of Attachm ent relationships – R (CaMir-R) and a sociodemographic fact sheet for the collection of information on family composition. The result showed a statistically significant and median association between attachment style and family composition (X2= 10,65; p < .05, V = 0.329). Finding that the most predominant attachment style is ambivalent insecure attachment, and the most frequent families are extended; in addition, the secure attachment style is related to the nuclear family, while the insecure attachment to the single-parent, extended and assembled family. It is recommended to replicate research with larger and more diverse samples.
