The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between academic procrastination and academic plagiarism, considering gender and grade level, in a group of high school students from an educational institution in the district of Los Olivos - Lima. The level of the research was empirical, of an associative and comparative type, and with a simple correlational design and natural groups. For data collection, two questionnaires were administered to 407 fourth and fifth year high school students. The instruments applied were the Academic Procrastination Scale (Domínguez, Villegas, and Centeno, 2014) and the Academic Plagiarism Questionnaire (Sureda, Comas, and Oliver, 2015). The results evidenced that there is a significant relationship between academic procrastination and academic plagiarism, indicating that, the higher the level of academic procrastination there is a greater tendency to engage in academic plagiarism practices. Likewise, the factors of both constructs also showed significant relationships. These findings allow us to propose intervention programs to adopt systems of prevention and awareness of values related to academic integrity from the earliest levels of Regular Basic Education.
