This research was carried out with the purpose of analyzing how large the differences in nutritional quality are between processed foods of the same group given that consumption of processed and ultraprocessed foods has increased significantly in recent years, which has raised concern about providing consumers information so that they can improve their choices. In this descriptive and comparative study, frequently consumed groups of processed and ultraprocessed foods were chosen. The nutritional quality was determined using the NRF9.3 index based on 100 grams of product. Information was collected on all products in the group that were available in the supermarket and that contained the necessary information. In addition, nutritional quality was correlated with price and country of origin. A total of 680 products from 13 groups were analyzed. The variability of nutritional quality was statistically significant in the 13 groups. Different nutrients were found to affect quality to a different extent. No relationship was found between nutritional quality and price in most groups. No relationship was found between nutritional quality and country of origin in most of the groups analyzed.
