The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between the use of ICTs and the academic performance of students in the IX cycle of education at a private university in Trujillo. The method to be used is quantitative, non-experimental with a descriptive correlational design, with a population of 23 students and a non-probabilistic convenience sample. On the other hand, as a technique and instrument, the measurement scale was chosen based on the number of questions for each of the dimensions. Likewise, content validity was carried out through expert judgment and reliability through Spearman correlation. The result was that the use of ICT, in the educational environment, is a fundamental piece in academic performance. This is demonstrated by obtaining data that there is a direct relationship (r= .598, p<.01) between both variables. It is concluded that the ICT variable has a high use by students (82.6%) and a medium use (17.4%). Regarding the Academic Performance variable, it is found that the majority of students have a high level of performance at 56.5%, followed by the medium level with 43.5%
