The main objective of this research is to diagnose faults in the flexible pavement of Ricardo Palma avenue using the pavement condition index method, Trujillo, 2019, the PCI method is easy to implement and does not require specialized tools for its execution, the totality of the damages found and its level of severity are described, which present the 19 failures considered according to the PCI manual, for this investigation only 13 failures have been found which was carried out on August 30 and 31 of This year, due to the extension of the road has been divided into 2 sections, the average PCI of section 1 is 65.01 of GOOD condition, the average PCI of section 2 is 69.62 of GOOD condition. To then obtain the total PCI of the entire route we obtain as a result of 67.31 of GOOD condition. According to the category of action of the PCI according to sotil (2012). It corresponds to performing routine and / or periodic preventive maintenance. The traffic study was also carried out and as a result it was obtained that transit around 3732veh / day, in addition to this the most predominant faults in the whole section are: Crocodile skin with low severity (L): 247.69m2 and high severity (H ): 19.49m2, Patch severity (L): 181.87m2, Disintegration and disintegration severity (M): 133.82m2 and (H): 37.20m2, and Gaps of severity (L): 1, (M): 10, (H ): 28 we must consider that this fault and the crocodile skin are structural failures that diminish the useful life of the pavement. And the other failures are functional, it is advisable to take this data obtained so that the authorities carry out their maintenance work on the asphalt folder
