The research has been carried out in the sector of Buenos Aires, district of Victor Larco Herrera, Trujillo. This site has problems in the soils both for its geographical location and for the composition of its strata. The objective of the research was to improve the physical and mechanical properties using as a treatment the addition of the mixture of peanut husk ash with lime, obtained from industrial burning; varying the percentage of addition. In order to achieve the task, soil samples were taken and the granulometry, Atterberg limits, Specific Density and Absorption tests were carried out as part of the physical properties and tests of Direct Cutting and Modified Proctor, as part of the mechanical tests. These were carried out in the Soil and Geotechnical Laboratory of the UNT with its own financing. There are problems of differential settlements in the buildings, which cause tensile stress in the foundations, generating faults in the concrete and in the structure in general. The soils must be treated to avoid these problems and possible cases of liquefaction. The ashes have properties of: reactive, pozzolanic and hydraulic capacity, improve workability; reason why it was used as an addition. The type of research is experimental, the design, pure experiment. For this purpose, 112 samples were prepared with different percentages of addition. The technique and instruments were used the Observation Guide and the ANOVA data analysis method. It was proved that the mixture of fly ash with lime, in the appropriate proportion as a soil treatment located in the Buenos Aires sector, Víctor Larco Herrera presents an adequate behavior in its physical and mechanical properties, so that it can be considered as soil carrier of buildings of common and important use.
