This research was carried out at the private University of Trujillo, had as objective to determine the structural design - hydraulic that it is necessary to consider to realize the riverside defense of the Rio Chicama, I Plan Bridge San Polo - Baths Chimú, 2018. The investigation is quantitative, of not experimental type. Taking as sample 2.00 Km from the riverbed of the river Chicama; the observation was in use as technology and there developed a picture of classification of variables for the analysis of the results. In the realized work, of I determine that the structural Design - hydraulic of riverside defense, it is necessary to be one of coating with castled, for the high risk of floods that exists in the zone and the losses that take place which are economic, since they affect in a negative way the economy of the settlers, agriculture and ranching; of transport, since it produces the obstruction of ways and logs carrozables; in health for the diseases and epidemics that these produce; being that the most harmful consequence the lag and development of the communities near to the river. One recommends to use the program River, for the modelamiento of the riverbed, because it composes a profitable instrument in the modelamiento of the rivers and to find the respective areas of flood. Likewise, it provides reliable parameters of design to design of riverside defenses that way to find his respective location and length.
