In the present investigation, the content of metals (iron, manganese, copper, zinc, magnesium, lead, cadmium and chromium) present in the root, bark and leaves of Tynanthus panurensis "huasca spot" of ethnomedicinal use in the Loreto region was evaluated. The descriptive study had as population individuals Tynanthus panurensis growing on both sides of the Iquitos-Nauta road (kilometer 17 to 50) and runner Zungarococha - Llanchama and samples were collected from the transepts used by materos, in order not to plunder the forest. Samples were mineralized in muffle furnace at 505 ° C x 24 Hrs. and then the ashes were solubilized in acid and the concentration of each metal was determined on the computer Atomic Absorption Spectr AAVarian AA 240, with Stripping Gas Air / Acetylene, signal hollow cathode lamp for each element ionization temperature 3000 ° C, injection by direct aspiration. The concentrations of heavy metals analyzed in the case of lead were below the maximum allowable levels (10 ug / g) in all samples cadmium exceeded the maximum permissible limits for trace elements analyzed and it was found that the leaves showed higher concentration of Mg, Mn, Cu, Zn and Cr; while these same metals in the cortex concentrations found were intermediate.
