The study was conducted in the communities of Puerto Almendra and Nina Rumi, the same that are located within the perimeter of the grounds of the UNAP of the right bank of the Nanay River, 8 and 9 km from the city of Iquitos. Politically they belong to the District of San Juan, Maynas province, Loreto region. The aim of this study was to raise awareness of the characteristics of the use of charcoal in improving this population latrines in rural communities of Puerto Almendra and Nina Rumi. The study populations not safely manage their excreta, a high percentage of the population is willing to try the new method (82.35%), perhaps to improve the image as a family home and raise their self-esteem, especially to make it more accessible among children, sick, and in the evening hours and the use of elements that improve the quality of life in terms of basic sanitation had a 58.82% acceptance. As for the type of latrine: dry latrines used rarely with sawdust substrate, good to lessen the impact of odor and exposure of stool, but the disposal is deficient met, because it requires the transfer of the substrate finally, this creates resistance of the population to use it, moreover wildlife excreta invade the house, and then return to their habitat in this case sawdust. The health manifests with low or low importance, prioritized fashion, comfort, using mobile phone, clothing, food. The installation of the wells (fountains), these are close to the latrines, risking contamination by excreta. Investing money in improving latrines is low (S /. 40.00) is the biggest expenses in toilet paper and the lowest cost, it is the improved latrine. Almost all people want to have your furnace carbonizer implementation or donation as an entity, and that determination can be exploited. Charcoal is a product easy to do and how potential must be more than 80.0% of the population is the manufacture of charcoal.
