The present study aimed to determine the association between personal / family factors and the risk of suicidal behavior in adolescents residing in the P.J. Tupac Amaru, Iquitos district, 2017. The quantitative method was used, nonexperimental, correlational, transverse and descriptive. The population consisted of 250 adolescents and the sample was 152. The instruments used were: a Scale of personal factors / family of the adolescent and a Test of risk assessment of suicidal behavior. The statistical program was SPSS, version 22 for Windows XP, confidence level of 95% and significance of 0.05 (p <0.05). The results obtained with respect to the personal / family factors were: 72.4% presented positive mood; 67.8% indicated adequate paternity; 65.8% were of adolescent onset age (12 to 14 years); 57.2% reported that the economic situation of their family is low; 54.7% had chaotic family functioning; 53.3% were male; And 34.9% referred a nuclear family. Regarding the risk of behavior suicide attempt 77% qualified without risk and in suicidal ideation, 76.3% qualified without risk. At risk of suicidal behavior, in suicidal ideation, 76.3% qualified without risk and in the suicide attempt, 77% qualified without risk. In order to establish the association between personal / family factors and risk of suicidal behavior in adolescents, these results were submitted to Pearson's Chi-square nonparametric statistical test (X^2), obtaining a statistically significant association between mood (p = 0.031), type of parents (p = 0.009) and family functioning (p = 0.014) and suicidal ideation; (P = 0.003), type of parents (p = 0.009) and family functioning (p = 0.008) and suicidal intent. There was no association between age (p = 0.623), sex (p = 0.520), economic status (p = 0.483) and family type (p = 0.166) with suicidal ideation; (P = 0.535), sex (p = 0.109), economic status (p = 0.478) and family type (p = 0.052) with suicidal intent. These findings will contribute to the prevention of suicidal behavior identifying the factors personals and family in the adolescents.
