Osteoarthritis is a degenerative, inflammatory and chronic arthropathy influenced by genetic, hormonal and environmental factors. Osteoarthritis therapy focuses on reducing pain, improving capacity. Arthritis is an inflammatory process of the synovium and when sustained over time leads to joint destruction and movement limitation. The objective is to evaluate the pharmacotherapeutic follow-up in patients with osteoarthritis and arthritis treated from September 2019 to February 2020. The methodology used was analytical type and quasi-experimental design. The clinical history was reviewed, the pharmacotherapeutic follow-up sheets (SFT) were reviewed in 70 patients for osteoarthritis and arthritis, using the DADER methodology, the Morisky Green Therapeutic Adherence Test and the Analogous Pain Assessment - VAS as a tool. Applying the Pharmacotherapeutic follow-up, the following results were obtained: greater therapeutic adherence in patients with osteoarthritis, with 57.1%, in relation to patients with arthritis, which was 45.7%; considering decrease in EVA2 it was better in patients with osteoarthritis. Pharmacotherapeutic follow-up, allowed to improve the reduction of intense to moderate and mild pain, due to the pharmaceutical intervention, identified the problems related to medications and improved adherence to pharmacological treatment.
