His research established the relationship between eating habits and socioeconomic status with the nutritional status in preschools of Educational Institution No. 366 (located in the center of Rumococha - Santa Clara Road Km.2) and the Educational Institution San Juan Bautista de la Salle (located in the urban area of the city of Iquitos), both belonging to the public education system. The research was carried out in 2017 and is quantitative, not experimental, of correlational design. The total population consisted of 167 students under 5 years of age, and the sample was 80 for the Educational Institution N ° 366 and 57 for the Educational Institution San Juan Bautista de la Salle. Surveys, weighing, carving and instruments were used, such as the standing digital scale, stadiometer and the hemoglobinometer. The processing of the obtained data was done using the statistical program SPSS v22. The results obtained in the Educational Institution N ° 366, according to the anthropometric indicator P / E, show that 91.3% is in the Normal range, 7.5% with Malnutrition and 1.3% with Overweight; according to T / E, 82.5% presented Normal Size and 17.5% Low Size; according to P / T, 100% was Normal and according to the biochemical indicator hemoglobin 66.3% was Normal, 1.3% with moderate anemia and 32.5% with mild anemia. While, at the San Juan Bautista de la Salle Educational Institution, according to P / E, 94.7% were found to be normal and 5.3% were overweight; according to T / E, 96.5% presented normal size, 1.8% short stature and 1.8% tall stature; according to P / T, 91.2% were normal and 8.8% were overweight; According to the biochemical indicator hemoglobin 94.7% was normal and 5.3% was mild anemia. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between dietary habits and socioeconomic status with the nutritional status in preschool children of Educational Institutions N ° 366 and San Juan Bautista de la Salle.
