This study aimed to determine what factors are associated with edentulism through the medical records of patients treated at the Clinic FO- UNAP, 2004-2014. The method used was QUANTITATIVE, the design was NOT EXPERIMENTAL, TRANSVERSE and CORRELATIONAL and RETROSPECTIVE. The sample consisted of 305 medical records. The instrument used was a data collection sheet in which the independent variables (gender , age , level of education , dental caries, periodontal disease, systemic disease ) and the dependent variable ( edentulous ) were recorded. Data were collected from medical records, completely filled with patients seen at the clinic FO- UNAP. The most important findings the following was found: The highest percentage of edentulism was found in females (73.1%). As for the intermediate age group had the highest percentage of adult edentulous with (61.6 %). As for the level of education the highest percentage of edentulous patients was found in secondary educatio n (45.9 %). With tooth decay factor the highest percentage of edentulous patients taken CPOD Index was Grave with (74.5 %). The highest percentage of edentulous patients found with mild periodontal disease (71.5 %). As for the systemic disease factor the highest percentage was found in patients without any systemic disease (85.6 %) There is significant relationship with edentulous. Gender ( p = 0.045 ) , age ( p = 0.000) , education level ( p = 0.001 ) ; Dental caries ( p = 0.000). No significant relationship exists: Systemic disease (p = 0.543), periodontal disease ( p = 0.658) .In conclusion some factors are related to edentulism.
