This research is aimed to determine the learning strategies to improve oral comprehension in English in5th grade students of Simon Bolivar High school, Iquitos, 2015. The study population consisted of 90 5th Grade students of Simon Bolivar High School, It was used the method of non-probability sampling, that is to say subjects were selected intentionally or convenience because of the ease of access to subjects and relevant information for the development of the study. To obtain basic information for carrying out the objectives and test hypotheses, It was used the Test technique with the instrument of Oral Comprehension Test and observation, the instruments were the Observation Checklist and Knowledge Test respectively. Concluding that the good practices of oral comprehension, was obtained by the use of communicative compensatory strategy with an average of 12 .94 amounts, to regular (11 to 13 points) , followed by affective strategy averaging 8.36 points equivalent to poor and small proportion cognitive strategy with an average of 5.86 points equivalent to poor that should be noted that all three strategies have similar variability in the behavior of the contribution to this achievement in listening comprehension of students in grade 5th of Simon Bolivar High School, Iquitos, 2015
