The potential volume of economically important species of the annual cut plot 2 of the logging units 277 and 278 of the permanent production forest in the Mayoruna with logging and managements possibilities was determined in an area of 10 367 ha, San Pablo disctrict, Loreto, Peru. Data were collected with a forest census in 26 units of 20 ha (100m x 2000m) each. All commercial forest species ≥ 40 cm DBH were registered. Results indicate the existence of 1600 harvestable trees with a total volume of 8304,2 m3. The logging planning was made based on four forest species: C. odorata, V. pavonis I. grandis and C. pentandra. These four selected forest species for logging operations were spatially grouped in an area of aprox. 262 ha with a total of 844 trees and 4508,15 m3. The environmental impact of mechanized logging was reduced by using environmental control measures, surveillance, and tracing and contingency measures. Silvicultural activities such as release and artificial regeneration were performed after de forest logging in the annual cut plot 2. Training of personnel in each scheduled activities was important for the work optimization and production improvement.
