The study was carried out in the riparian forests of the San Pablo de Cuyana community, Nanay River; between the months of October 2019 to February 2020, with the aim of evaluating the diversity of non-flying small mammals. The records were obtained in 10 transects, 5 in flooded forest and 5 in unflooded forest; also, in each habitat 20 Tomahawk traps and 10 Sherman traps were placed. 7 species and 2 orders of non-flying small mammals were registered in 2520 traps/nights, the order Didelphimorphia obtained 4 species (57.14%), while Rodentia obtained 3 species (42.86%), at the family level, Didelphidae was the most representative with 4 species. In the flooded forest 6 species were registered and 4 in the unflooded forest; of which, Marmosa murina was not registered in the flooded forest, while Didelphis marsupialis, Philander opossum and Myoprocta pratti were not registered in the unflooded forest. At total of 71 individuals were registered, of these, Proechimys quadruplicatus it turned out to be more abundant with 37 individuals (52.11%), followed by Proechimys cuvieri with 27 individuals (38.03%), the rest of the species obtained low values and represent the 9.86%. The order Rodentia predominated in both habitats, like the family Echimyidae. There were differences in abundances between habitats (ANOSIM, p= 0.028), Proechimys quadruplicatus and Proechimys cuvieri were more abundant in the unflooded forest, while Didelphis marsupialis, Myoprocta pratti and Philander opossum obtained few individuals and were only recorded in the flooded forest.
