The use of natural products can be a cost-effective method to prevent caries, especially in developing countries where tooth decay is very prevalent and resources are limited. Therefore, the present work aims to evaluate the synergistic effect of extracts of plant species with chlorhexidine against Streptococcus mutans, Iquitos-Peru 2020. For this, an experimental study was carried out. As a result, it was found out that the minimum inhibiting concentration of chlorhexidine determined at 0,13% is reduced to 0,03% in combination with a dose of 2 mg / mL of Psidium guajava extract against Streptococcus mutans. In the same way the minimum inhibiting concentration of chlorhexidine is reduced to 0.03% in combination with a dose of 8 mg / mL of Neea spruceana Heimerl extract.
