Diversidad, densidad y estado de conservación de primates en las cuencas altas de los Ríos Napo y Curaray, Loreto, Perú

Abstract

De junio a julio del 2018, se realizó el presente estudio, cuyo objetivo fue conocer la diversidad, densidad y estado de conservación de primates en las cuencas altas de los ríos Napo y Curaray. Los datos se registraron mediante censos por transectos lineales. En total se registraron 13 especies de primates agrupados en 4 familias y 11 géneros. En la cuenca del Napo (zona I) y Curaray (zona II) se registraron ocho especies, respectivamente y en el Curaray (zona III) siete. Las densidades poblacionales más altas correspondieron a Lagothrix lagotricha lagotricha (37,97 ind./km2), Lagothrix lagotricha poeppigii (27,82 ind./km2) y Saguinus tripartitus (17,18 ind./km2), y las más bajas pertenecieron a Cebuella pygmaea pygmaea (0,20 ind./km2), Alouatta seniculus (0,10 ind./km2) y Cheracebus lucifer (0,07 ind./km2). De acuerdo con el Decreto Supremo N° 004-2014-MINAGRI, seis de las trece especies están en las categorías de Vulnerable y En Peligro, según la UICN las trece especies se encuentran en cinco categorías de amenaza y respecto al CITES todas las especies están en Apéndice II. En conclusión, los resultados de la presente investigación demuestran una gran diversidad de primates, con poblaciones saludables, donde las categorías de amenaza para algunas especies justifican la ampliación de la Reserva Comunal Airo Pai con la finalidad de conservar a este y otros grupos de mamíferos.

From June to July 2018, the present study was carried out, the objective of which was to know the diversity, density and conservation status of primates in the upper basins of the Napo and Curaray rivers. The data were recorded by linear transect censuses. In the Napo basin (zone I) and Curaray (zone II), eight species were registered, respectively, and in the Curaray (zone III) seven. The highest population densities corresponded to Lagothrix lagotricha lagotricha (37.97 ind./km2), Lagothrix lagotricha poeppigii (27.82 ind./km2) and Saguinus tripartitus (17.18 ind./ km2), and the lowest belonged to Cebuella pygmaea pygmaea (0.20 ind./km2), Alouatta seniculus (0.10 ind./km2) and Cheracebus lucifer (0.07 ind./km2). According to Supreme Decree N° 004-2014-MINAGRI, six of the thirteen species are in the categories of Vulnerable and Endangered, according to the IUCN the thirteen species are in five categories of threat and with respect to CITES all species are in Appendix II. In conclusion, the results of this research show a great diversity of primates, with healthy populations, where the categories of threat for some species justify the expansion of the Airo Pai Communal Reserve in order to conserve this and other groups of mammals.
