The objective was to determine the association between self-esteem and interpersonal relations in students from the third to fifth level of the Nursing Faculty of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon of the city of Iquitos (UNAP) -2017. The method used was quantitative and non-experimental correlational and cross-sectional design. The population was 115 students, of any age, of both sexes, with regular enrollment 2017-I. The sample conformed by 100% of the population assigned by non-probabilistic sampling for convenience. The technique was the survey, the instruments: Rosenberg's self-esteem scale (Validity 0.87 and reliability of 0.72), and the Interpersonal Relations Test (Validity 89% and reliability 87%). The data were analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 program. The inferential statistical test was the Contingency Coefficient (CC), with α = 0.05 and 95% confidence level. The results are as follows: 78.3% (90%) of students from the National University of the Peruvian Amazonian University, 115 (100%) have high self-esteem, 20.9% (24) average self-esteem and 0.9% (1) low self-esteem; 90.4% (104) have good interpersonal relationships and 9.6% (11) have poor interpersonal relationships. The value of CC = 0.28, and p = 0.007 <α = 0.05, allowed us to accept the hypothesis, is there is a significant statistical association between self-esteem and interpersonal relationships in students from third to fifth level of the Faculty of Nursing National University of the Peruvian Amazon of the city of Iquitos during the year 2017.
