The diversity of tree species belonging to the Lecythidaceae family with DBH ≥ 10 cm was evaluated in this study, in seventy five 10 m x 30 m subplots within a wind-disturbed forest located at km 80 of the Iquitos-Nauta road. 141 tree individuals, distributed in 12 species and 3 genera were registered. Results show that α diversity of the disturbed forest ranged from de 0, 7959 to 9, 28, while the β diversity indicates that subplots BC630 and FG840 show the highest similarity, sharing Eschweilera coriacea and Eschweilera parvifolia species. The IVI for such a forest reveals that Eschweilera parvifolia (70, 88%), Eschweilera coriacea (58,16%), Eschweilera ovalifolia (51,20%) and Eschweilera tessmannii (26,60%) are the most important species; in addition, from the ecological point of view, Eschweilera parvifolia was found to be the most important species in this type of forest.
