This study deals with the description of the anatomy of the cell structure of the branch wood of N. acuminata, P. tomentosa and T. peruvianum, based on the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the cell structure. Samples of branch wood of the three species were collected in the forest of the botanical garden “El Huayo” (JBEH) then taken to the Wood Anatomy Lab of the Forest Sciences Faculty of the UNAP in Puerto Almendra, Iquitos. The methodology used was that of Valderrama (2008). The results show that branch wood of N. acuminata and T. peruvianum have medium texture and that of P. tomentosa has thick texture. N. acuminata and T. peruvianum have pores of medium diameter (136,78 μm and 150,15 μm, respectively) and P. tomentosa has large pores (240,12 μm). All three species have diffuse porosity. P. tomentosa has solitary pores, while N. acuminata and T. peruvianum have solitary and multiple pores. N. acuminata, P. tomentosa and T. peruvianum have medium-size vessels (434,48 μm, 584,97 μm and 603,30 μm, respectively). N. acuminata, P. tomentosa and T. peruvianum have a medium diameter of fibers (30.62 μm, 28.02 μm and 31.19 μm, respectively). All three species have inclusions with unidentified substances.
