control different disease – causing pathogens, but as the yers go by and the misuse and abuse of them, cause bacteria adhesión to maintin increasingly resistant strains. Currently, in the Peruvian Amazon have been reported, at least, 3140 useful species of which approximately 1044 species have medicinal use. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity in vitro stem rubescens Brosimun Taubert (Palisangre) for which the study sample was collected in the Alpahuayo - Mishana Reserve and identified taxonomically in the Herbarium of the University Amazonense of the Peruvian Amazon, and deposited in the laboratory of Engineering and Microbiology, the Faculty of Food Industry (Pilot plant - UNAP). Of the 02 extracts were prepared crust; aqueous and ethanol for antibacterial activity assessments. The techniques used in the laboratory for the determination of the antibacterial activity in vitro were the disk diffusion method (agar) and broth dilution (macrodilution) using strains of Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 The results of techniques applied to each extract, showed the presence of antibacterial activity in the ethanol extract of the stem of Brosimum rubescens (palisangre) against Staphylococcus aureus and the aqueous extract against Escherichia coli. One can conclude that both extracts showed in vitro antibacterial activity, with the best response ethanolic extract obtained bacterial growth inhibition is probably a combination of phytochemicals present in the extract
