The aim of the present study was to demonstrate the relationship between sexual dimorphism and agenesis of the third molar in patients aged 12 to 18 years who come to the radiological center SODGEN IMAGES of the city of Iquitos-Peru in 2017. The study was retrospective, transversal, descriptive and observational, included a population of 748, with the exclusion and inclusion criteria, a representative sample of 254 panoramic digitalized radiographs was obtained. For the collection of data from each radiograph, a file was used that included the patient's name, sex, age and presence of the third molar; the statistical program SPSS version 22 and the statistical test Chi2 (p <0.05) were used. The results show that of the population studied, 56.7% (144) of them were women and 43.3% (110) were men; third molar agenesis occurs in 19.3% (49 patients out of 254, p = 0.005) being more prevalent in men with 11.8% (30); more frequent in lower arch with 46.9% (p = 0.018) ¬; the most frequent tooth with agenesis was 3.8% with 9.1% (p = 0.180); an absent tooth is observed with 9.3% (p = 0.301) with more frequent agenesis. It was concluded that there is a relationship between sexual dimorphism and agenesis of the third molar, with a higher prevalence in men.
