This research was developed in Electro Oriente SA, located in Iquitos, including Iquitos-Punchana district, Av. Freyre No. 1168, whose main business is power generation, product thermodynamic operation of generators. The aim of the study was to conduct a study on the type of hazardous solid waste generated during the process of thermal power generation. In Electro Oriente SA 03 types of hazardous waste, hazardous waste solids, semi-solid and liquid hazardous waste generated hazardous waste. Hazardous solid waste generated in Electro Oriente SA during the first quarter of 2015 we can conclude the following: 55 kg were generated. sawdust contaminated with hydrocarbon (11.98% of the total hazardous solid waste; 6 kg of lead-acid battery (1.31% of the total hazardous solid waste. 14 kg containers of chemicals (3.05% e). 5kg. personal protective equipment contaminated with hydrocarbons (1.09%; 78 kg of filters (16.99% of the total hazardous solid waste. 6 kg of grass contaminated with hydrocarbon (1.31% of the total hazardous solid waste.. 23.5 kg of paper contaminated with hydrocarbon (5.12% of the total hazardous solid waste generated; 7.5 kg of plastic contaminated with hydrocarbon (1.63% of the total hazardous solid waste generated;. 51 kg of soil contaminated with hydrocarbon (11.11% of the total hazardous solid waste generated and 213 kg of wype contaminated with hydrocarbon (46.41% of the total hazardous solid waste generated during I Quarter). Of hazardous liquids and semisolid waste generated in Electro Oriente SA during the first quarter of 2015 it concludes in total 13449.49 kg. semi-solid and liquid hazardous waste. With regard to the assessment of deficiency pickup system and handling of hazardous solid waste, it can be concluded that: In January 2015, hazardous solid waste product of poor segregation of non-hazardous solid waste to hazardous waste were generated (Case hydrocarbon-impregnated paper and plastic), this due to staff Electro Oriente SA he was not trained in subject of hazardous waste (65.38% of the population of the initial survey) also had no equipment and tools necessary to properly handle hazardous waste. During the development of this research, it was implemented in the container business of non-hazardous waste and hazardous waste, improving segregation, characterization and management of them.
