In the high dry varillal forest of the Allpahuayo Mishana National Reserve, a study was carried out with the purpose of determining the richness, Shannon index, Simpson index, IVI of the varillal forest, as well as determining the structure of the forest, between the period 2001 to 2017 using data from permanent sampling plots. In this forest 49 species were recorded in the (PPM) 9 and 1146 trees / ha, 71 species in the plot 10 and 887 trees / ha and 66 species in the plot 11 and 1033 trees / ha. The Simpson index varied between 0.8389 and 0.9606; the Shannon - Wiever index ranged from 2,473 to 3,587, there were statistical differences between plots (p same <0,026). The most abundant species was Pachira brevipes; in the year 2005 it represented 26.72%; 27.13% in 2007 and 20.88% in 2017. The association Pachira brevipes- Sloanea latifolia - Dicymbe uaiparuensis takes precedence. To estimate the total height of the trees, the model Total height = 6.51 * 〖DAP〗 ^ 0.294 can be used, and to estimate the number of normal trees for the year 2017, the formula N = 1360.14 * e ^ was used. (-0.106 * CD). Based on this model it was estimated that in diameter class 10 there is a greater number of trees (303 trees / ha) that can be extracted from the rod (32,681 m3 / ha). In the varillal forest, caspi and achiotillo oil can be extracted as round wood, at a rate of 13.8 trees / ha, as well as sawmills such as quinilla, chontaquiro, moena, pashaco and charapilla. The other species can be used for firewood or charcoal.
