With the objective of determining the level of reading comprehension that the students of the fifth grade of primary education, junior secondary No. 60054 "Silfo Alván del Castillo Iquitos – 2014 did the non – experimental, descriptive, correlational study, having worked with 56 students Of the fifth grade of IEIPS (Reading comprehension test for the fifth grade of Primary Education) that evaluated the reading comprehension in the literal level, inferential level and criterial level dimensions (Catalá, et. Al., 2001), whose validity of content was made through the expert judgment and on the answers of the experts were applied the "V" coefficient of Aiken; Reliability using the Gronbach alpha yielded 0.761. The results show that in the general evaluation of reading comprehension 35 (62.90%), students are in the low level; 10 (17.90%) students are in the middle level and 11 (19.60%) students in the high level. Results indicating that the low level in reading comprehension is the most representative of the sample. In the literal dimension, students are regularly placed in the middle and lower levels: 21 (37.5%) in each of the two levels respectively, and 14 (25.0%) of students are in the high level, in the (41%) the subjects of the study are located in the middle level, followed by 38 (27%) located in the low level, finally 15 (32%) are located in the high level. In the criterion dimension, 33 (59%) are those that are located in the middle level, followed by 14 (25%) that are located in the low level, finally 9 (16%) are located in the high level.
