The present research work was carried out in the town of Ninarumi, District of San Juan, with the aim of determining the degree of knowledge and attitudes of the population of the Nina Rumi hamlet about forest conservation, 2020. According to the results there are a total of 912 responses for the FOREST KNOWLEDGE variable and 1064 responses for the POPULATION FITNESS variable. For the FOREST KNOWLEDGE variable, 49.78% (454) responded that they TOTALLY AGREE, 8.22% (75) AGREE, 27.41% (250) TOTAL DISAGREE, 6.69% (61) in DISAGREE and 7.89% (72) NEITHER AGREE NOR DISAGREE. For the variable POPULATION FITNESS, 50% (532) were obtained for the response TOTALLY AGREE, 24% (252) AGREE, 15% (156) for the response NEITHER AGREE OR DISAGREE, 5% (53) DISAGREE and 7% (71) TOTALLY DISAGREE. It is necessary for indigenous populations to be continuously trained in order to gain more knowledge of the forest and thus have to manage to conserve the forest in a sustainable way. According to the study carried out, the population of Nina rumi is classified in the category of BAD for the variable to knowledge of the forest. According to the study carried out, the population of Nina rumi is classified in the REGULAR category for the variable Population Aptitude
