Attalea presents classification problems due to various taxonomic treatments, little herbal representation, low collection of dioecious species, changes in the environment due to anthropic pressure and cases of hybridization, which lead to being confused with other species of the genus, as they are vegetatively identical. This study describes the morphological and biometric characteristics of Attalea bassleriana bunches, fruits and seeds that help to elucidate the classification of the species, determine the degree of correlation of its biometric variables and describe the environment where it develops. 30 qualitative variables were described and 39 quantitative variables from Paraíso, Libertad de Cuiparillo and Santa Lucía were analyzed, the comparison of means was evaluated using ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis. To determine the relationship between the variables, the Spearman correlation analysis was performed. Finally, principal component analysis (PCA) was used to visualize the difference and the behavior presented by the data. Of the 39 variables, 23 were significant (p <0.05), which indicates that there is a regular difference between the biometric characteristics of the populations. The highest correlations were number of fruits / bunch weight (0.921) and fruit weight / fruit diameter (0.844), which will allow a better selection of bunches and fruits in the field. ACPs demonstrate the differentiation and variation that exists between population data. Likewise, the species develops in terrace forests, swampy forests, lands dedicated to agriculture and livestock, at an altitude of 145 – 150 meters above sea level.
