The study was carried out in the eigth provinces of the Loreto Region. The objectives were to determine the increase in deforestation in the period 2000-2014; determine the loss of biomass; quantify carbon and CO2 emissions in the forests of the provinces of the Loreto Region. The Alto Amazonas province reports the highest value of deforestation increase with 14 101,37 ha for the 2010-2011 period; While lower value presents the Putumayo province with 240,24 ha for the period between the years 2011-2013. The loss of biomass due to deforestation for Saatchi amounts to 41' 763 804,50 tons, of which the Alto Amazonas province presents the highest value with 11,860 190,11 tons (28,40%); While Baccini reports 44' 140 635,68 tons, of which the province of Alto Amazonas exhibits the highest value with 12' 788 384,09 tons (28,97%). Saatchi points out that the carbon lost through deforestation totals 20' 881 902,25 tC. In addition, the highest value shows the Alto Amazonas province with 5' 930 095,05 tC (28,40%); While Baccini reports a total of 21' 666 407,48 tC. Likewise, the province Alto Amazonas obtained the highest value with 6' 394 192,05 tC (29,51%). Saatchi, states that CO2 emissions from deforestation amount to 76' 532 171,75 tC. In addition, the province Alto Amazonas reports the highest value with 21' 733 798,37 tC (28,40%); While Baccini, shows 79' 407 383,42 tC. Likewise, the province Alto Amazonas reached the highest value with 23' 434 713,85 tC (29,51%).
