This research objective was to assess the effectiveness of a learner training program based on Algebrator to improve fourth grade students’ problem solving skills of regularity, equivalence and change at 6010120 Las Malvinas high school, Punchana 2019. The research type was evaluative with filed study, contemporary transectional, univariable, and quasiexperimental design with pre-test, post-test and control group. The study population was made up by 93 students, with a deterministic sample of 63: The control group (31 students of 4th A) and the experimental group (32 students of 4th B). Post-test results show that the experimental group outperformed the control group as their mean score was higher (13.40 > 9.35). Similarly, in its indicators: Data organization (14.50 >8.90), understanding communication (13.75> 9.67), strategy and procedure use (12.75 > 9.4513 ), argumenting results (12.62 > 9.54). It is concluded that the results of the Mann-Whitney U test for independent samples, show that using Algebrator improved the study population’s problem resolution skills as p-value was 0.000 < α = 0.05, accepting the working hypothesis.
