The study on the effect of a nutritional educational program on the health practices of mothers and the growth of the children of an indigenous community, Loreto 2014-2105, aimed to determine the effects of a nutritional educational program (demonstrative sessions) on the health practices of mothers and the growth of children from 6 months to 4 years 11 months, 29 days of the indigenous community (Urco Miraño of the Yagua ethnic group), Loreto 2014-2015. The type of research used was quantitative, quasi - experimental design; with a sample made up of 26 mothers with their children. The techniques used were the interview, observation, and home visit; the instruments were, the characterization sheet, to obtain the data of the mothers and their children; checklist, to verify the health practices of mothers before and after the execution of the program, had a validity of 87.5% and reliability of 82.0%. The results were, before the educational program, 26 mothers (100%) presented inadequate sanitary practices, after the execution, 38.5% (10) mothers presented adequate sanitary practices. Likewise, before the implementation of the program, 3.8% (1) children presented adequate growth, and then increased to 38.5% (10) children. When testing the hypotheses, it is evident that the nutritional educational program (demonstrative sessions) had a positive effect both on the health practices of the mothers (X2c = 12.381 with p = 0.000 <α 0.05), as well as on growth of children from 6 months to 4 years 11 months, 29 days (X2c = 9,339 with p = 0.002 <α 0.05), from the indigenous community (Urco Miraño, Yagua ethnicity), results that allow to accept both hypotheses. In conclusion, the positive effect of the educational program was demonstrated using the technique of demonstrative sessions.
