The study was carried out in plot 8 of the arboretum “El Huayo” of the CIEFOR Puerto Almendra, Iquitos, Perú. The objective was to determine the allometric equation that best fits to the estimation of tree biomass and based on it, to economically evaluate the CO2 sequestration service. A total of 427 individuals included in 81 species, 60 genera and 28 botanical families were registered; Lecythidaceae family with 115 individuals was the most representative, followed by Fabaceae family with 66 individuals. Results show that the Higuchi and Carvalho equation (1994) was the best allometric equation for estimating tree biomass (R2= 0,87; SEE= 12,28%). The total economic value of CO2 sequestration service in the plot 8 was USD 1619,98/tCO2, being the Fabaceae family, with 9 species and 66 individuals, the family with the highest economic value of USD 422,97/tCO2.
