This study used a linear regression model to verify the hypothesis that per capita economic growth and income concentration have effects on monetary poverty. The first hypothesis shows a positive and significant sign, which shows that per capita income, has a positive impact on monetary poverty. The second hypothesis shows that the income concentration (inequality) measured through the Gini coefficient shows a negative and significant sign, which shows that inequality in income distribution, contributes to increasing monetary poverty in Peru for the 2000-2017 study years. The third study scenario sought to complement the impact on poverty of investment in basic education and access to credit. In both cases, the signs of the ratio are negative and significant, demonstrating that an increase in investment in education and an increase in access to credit by vulnerable populations contributes to a reduction in monetary poverty. Finally, the results were tested diagnostics finding that the results allow correctly estimating the regression coefficients and making prediction using a hypothesis test.
