The purpose of this work was to evaluate the spatial and temporal preference of the oviposition of Aedes aegypti, vector of dengue in the town of Villa Trompeteros (Río Corrientes, Loreto-Peru) from June to December 2015; Entomological surveys provided by the Villa Trompeteros Environmental Health establishment were analyzed. This analysis included obtaining the level of infestation through entomological indicators, from 05 epidemiological sectors per month, during the study period. No eggs were reported in the containers inspected in the time that the study lasted, however 0.95% (16/1687) of the samples inspected were positive for larvae or pupae of Aedes aegypti, this result indirectly shows the preference of oviposition, being the buckets, pan, tub (62.50%; n = 10/16) the most preferred type of container for oviposition, followed by the collection and storage containers of water: barrel, cylinder, Samson (31.25%; n = 5/16) and the useless (6.25%; n = 1/16). Sector 02 and 04 of Villa Trompeteros were the most preferred for oviposition, the presence of immature stages was not found in sector 05. In September the highest oviposition preference is reported, fluctuating the level of infestation between 6.3 and 33.3%, the presence of this vector was not found in the month of November.
