The horizontal structure and the economic valuation of lumber of standing commercial tree species within a low-hill forest in Requena, Peru, were determined in this work. A forest inventory of all trees with DBH ≥ minimum cut diameter were carried out using sample strips systematically distributed in fifty 100 m x 500 m subplots, then the floristic composition were recorded, the IVI was calculated and the commercial volume per diameter class was quantified, then the economic value of standing commercial species was obtained. The floristic composition consisted in 275 tree individuals included in 21 commercial forest species and 12 botanical families. Fabaceae (38%), Myristicaceae and Malvaceae (10% each) report the highest number of species. Species with higher IVI are C. cateniformis, A. leiocarpa, C. pentandra and C. decandra. The commercial lumber volume resulted in 13,76 m3/ha and the economic valuation of the low-hill forest assessed raised to S/. 2342,61/ha.
